Topic: Rush 2112 side One or Two ? Posted: July 31 2009 at 01:19 |
well me personaly I think side one (2112) is better but I can imagine A passage to Bangkok, The Twilightzone, Lessons,Tears & Something for Nothing on side Two getting a few votes .. anyway this should be interesting I hope .... btw I didnt bother to check if its been done but I think I`m safe as of recently anyway.

This will be a blowout.
Side 1, for its sheer brilliance and also for nostalgia. Not to say Side 2 is bad by any means; I really like it too.

Side A is fantastic. Side B is what it is...
I wonder if Tarkus would get a more balanced poll than this...

Side 1. Side 2 has got some nice moments, but most of it isn't very good IMO. Side 1 is a great epic, which also has some weaker moments, but in the end is still very interesting.

Actually a tough decision. I love the title track but so do I love the second side as well... I could vote for side two just to balance things a bit, but... Hell, I'll justify it with the annoying out-of-place melody in the title track just before the vocals come in, that's the only bit of the album that I really dislike I remember hearing the song on Rush in Rio before the studio version and I thought it was just some silly joke played by Alex.

Its a great album overall.
But the side 1 suite wins for me.

Easy one! side 1 is far better. Side 2 is pretty average stuff compare to what they did after that. That's why i am always surprised to see the high rating of the 2112 album.

Side 2, side 1 becomes too much for me, but i do love the melodies on side 2, some of the best rock songs they have done. Seem from a prog view side 1 is prob. more prog, but im by ears to much fill and guitar effects.

Side 1 for me.
Side 2 is pretty good though. Something for nothing and Lessons are excellent songs!

No contest. I don't even like side 2 much at all, except for "Something for Nothing" which is ok.

Both, but I actually I find myself listening more to side 2 these days, maybe I find it more consistent throughout, or maybe I listened the Overture and Temples Of Sirynx too many times live.... or maybe I think side 2 deserves one more vote at the moment, or maybe all those reasons altogether.

Side Two, 2112 is overrated.
