I'm pretty sure this was already a topic not too long ago.
But anyway . . . Tool wins easily. PT is great, but repetetive.

I think although TOOL has produced fewer albums, they are more consistent. As much as I love PT, their last 2 have lacked something special (maybe the cheesy lyrics?). The Sky Moves Sideways, Signify, and In Absentia are all amazing albums though.

I like both, but I don't love PT anymore for some reason, but still love Tool. Tool it is.

It always amazes me in these polls how PT always beats Tool, but there are always tons of comments saying how most people prefer Tool far, far more than the other. PT usually wins because they are more proggy, but I think fans of Tool are way more passionate, because they get the awesomeness of them that isn't immediately noticeable to prog fans.
Anyway, Tool by about 10,000 miles. It's like comparing a five course dinner with dessert to a hot dog cookout. The cookout isn't bad by any means, it's just that the other is way better.

Tool for me too. PT is very good too, especially the last two albums (I haven't heard all of theirs, though, only five or six or something) but Tool is one of my biggest favourites. edit: I thought I voted already, but it seemed that I hadn't, so I did it again. The vote was counted but it still doesn't say I've voted in this poll ![Shocked Shocked](smileys/smiley3.gif) So there's now two Tool votes from me I guess. Maybe some PT fan has the same error happening and he's been giving all those PT votes, since nobody's been commenting about voting for them. ![Wink Wink](smileys/smiley2.gif)

PT for me...love tool aswell but just not enough material to listen to. Frankly I only listen to Aenima and Lateralus nowadays and a few songs from the others albums....10,000 days is alright like undertow and opiate....now PT on the other hand although their albums may not be as good the shear number of albums with quality material puts them over the top. When Tool is all said and done people will always say.....yeh they were great but they could manage a record only every 4 years or so, and only 2 out of the 5 so far are really worth all the hype. Just my opinion, but my friend likes to argue they put out full albums i.e. close to 80 minutes. Well not at of them are and some are just filled to the rim with filler. no matter how you slice it Aenima even though my favourtie collection of songs by them, is filled to the brim with filler.

Tool because Maynard is incredibly obnoxious and sexually attractive.
