THE BATCH Wait 'til tomorrow ANAZITISI Records ARLP 60-24F What a discovery and what an album!!!!! The It was in this nurturing atmosphere that the beginnings of The Batch were born. Barry Thomas Goldberg and Gary Paulak started their first band, “The Shambles”, as teenagers in 1966. That year they had their first recording session at the legendary Dove Studios in The Batch rose from the ashes of Candy Floss and consisted of Barry Thomas Goldberg, Gary Paulak, Arne Fogel, Jay Lee and The Batch continued recording many hours worth of material in various Twin Cities’ studios but only released one single, “Golden Sun/Hot Summer Nights” (Groove Soup, 1972; Unfortunately, only a handful of these 45s still exist). The Batch called it quits after years of being on the road touring Mid-America. But these are the raw and vital recordings of a band at the very moment of finding their freedom and independence. This special limited vinyl edition contains priceless rarities for collectors of 60’s and early 70’s Mid-American Rock ‘n’ Roll. Some months ago, The Batch released 21 previously unreleased songs through their own HIJ/BECCA label (which we proudly distribute in All of the tracks recorded between 1968 and early 1970 and were home-recordings made on 2-tracks tape-recorders. All of the included songs have been remastered and carefuly restored by the original master-tapes (some also have the original song-length and different mixing) and have a much much better audible result than the "Transistor" CD. From the garage-pop tune of "Ha la la" to the mind-blowing psychedelic "Drifting", from the acid underground sounds of "Wait 'til tomorrow" to the heavy "Untangle your mind" and from the guitar-pyrotechnics of "Freedy Coolchick" to the Dead-like "So sad" this BATCH album is a must for every psychohead and soon it will find its place between the lost From the master tapes and fully licenced by the band. Includes a 4-pages insert with bio, lyrics and photos and a B/W reproduced poster. High quality papers were used for the cover and insert. PVC protective outersleeve. 180gr. vinyl as usual. 400 black and 100 coloured vinyl edition. P.L.J BAND Armageddon ANAZITISI Records ARLP/S 80-25 The first ever official vinyl reissue of these greek legends. Originally released in 1982 by Vertigo this is a very rare album nowadays. Progressive, space rock, psychedelic, byzantine and mid-eastern elements create the ultimate greek "rock" album, as many prog-minds around the world declare. The lyrics based on the "Apocalypse of John" and the "Prophecies of Ezekiel". No more comments as this is a well-known masterpiece. But the surprise is the "GASPAR", which accompanies this album. It was a privately pressed 7" EP, released in 1979 as a limited edition of 1000 copies and it had been distributed by the band through their gigs. Nowadays, it's an ultra rarity and almost impossible to find a copy. It contains 4 tracks, all self-penned and sung in English and it's closer to the late 60's – early 70's psychedelic music than to the "Armageddon's" space progressivism. It has never been rereleased in any format. This is an official reissue, licenced by UNIVERSAL Yet, the set contains the ULTRA RARE, 4-tracks,7" EP "Gaspar", made by the band in 1979. With its original B/W picture sleeve, this 7" re-release is licenced by P.L.J Band members. 500 copies. PVC protective outersleeve. 180gr as usual. ANDREAS THOMOPOULOS ANAZITISI Records ARLP 70-26 Great underground acid folk LP by Greek singer/songwriter (and a film director today) Andreas Thomopoulos, who lived in Lyrics are in English and only "The stranger" is in Greek (and what a song!!!). A totally vanished album as original and a "must"!!! Limited to 400 black and 100 coloured copies. Licenced by Andreas Thomopoloulos. It includes the original lyric sheet plus one more insert with photos. PVC protective outersleeve. 180gr. vinyl as usual. FORTHCOMIN RELEASES from ANAZITISI Records: 1) MIND GARAGE : A total electric happening LP A previously unreleased album (1968), which predates their "An electric rock mass" and it's their most psychedelic effort. Really…!!! 2) VAVOURA BAND : Live- The early days LP For first time on vinyl (we had pressed it some years ago on CD), we present the heavy-progressive, with blues tinges, greek band which is still active. 70's recordings. |
