Hi from Spain.

I´m very interesting in british progressive bands of early 80´s (80-85). I have notice about some bands but I would like to have information of them, if someone knows. They are: Iddle Hours, Red, Exhibit A, Mainframe, Hibiscus, 13th hour, Isis, Sleepwalker (first Clive Nolan band), Tangeant, Trekellion Skyway, Curious dream, Nexus, Borag Thung, Gizmo. Any kind of information is welcomed. Thank you very much.

Hi,
I was one of the guitarists in Trekellion Skyway. It was a college band based at Dundee University 1980-83. Released one double album. Sold a few hundred copies around the campus. Band split on graduation and I lost touch with the other members. Music based on Rush, Genesis. No covers though. All original. Very complex music and not well enough rehearsed to be really tight.  PM me if you want more details.

Hi Rod,
I sent you an e-mail.
Ive not heard from the others for 25 years.
I'd hazard a guess we wont be doing a comeback tour!
Cheers
Phil.

What can we do to help Trekellion Skyway have a page on ProgArchives? We'd love to help - and we're eager to listen to the music.

I think this band, no matter what they were playing or what they published, deserves at  least a  honorary memebership in PA...Big%20smile

Can I post a link to a track here? With apologies to the others who may never want it to see the light of day again this is 'Journeys end' one of the lighter acoustic thingies.

Link above seems to work now.
First airing in public for 25+years. And it probably ought to be the last!
Sorry Mike. Thats the Dr Rhythm(I think) playing the drums.I think you were doing exams when this was recorded.

Some of the recordings were done on 8 track but a lot was done straight to cassette with the occasional bounce to another cassette.

I dont have any live stuff. The tapes have all gone bad.

There quite a bit more but its still on tape. It was really strange to listen to it again.

PS I've still got the Gibson in the picture but not the hair.

Thanks

The 'album' was only ever released on cassette.  My copy is a bit shot in places but I may pull a few more tracks off and post them up if there is genuine interest here. The masters as far as I know are long gone. Most of the live stuff disappeared in the 1980s from my Ford Cortina -  the most stolen car in Dundee. funny it kept coming back though.
I dont think there are any copyright issues but if Rod or John object I will remove them.
There's a nice, fairly heavy track which is fairly intact. I may do that next.

In that case Phil, a comeback project would be the best thing to do. Tongue

As you can see, the interest is genuine around here Smile
