Here is a selection of artists' which appear in an eBay search for the genre "progressive rock" -

  • Badly Drawn Boy
  • Johnny Cash
  • Skunk Anansie
  • The Darkness
  • Poison
  • U2
  • Guns 'n' Roses
  • Freddie Mercury
  • Judy Tzuke
  • David Gray
I mean, who picks these genres?

Guns 'n' Roses have a couple of really long songs -> They must be prog-related. Tongue

Johnny Cash, on the other hand, is too timeless to be considered progressive, regressive or any other -ressive.

^ Guns and Roses' Welcome to the Jungle is actually related to Jethro Tull's Bungle in the Jungle, so yes, definitely prog-related. Wink

But didn't Jethro Tull beat out Metallica one year for the Heavy Metal Album of the Year Grammy?]
