What the hell is Audiosurf? Since the website doesn't appear to be very interested in telling you, I will. You put your own music (Yes, any song, unless it's over 20 minutes long) into it, and it turns it into a rollercoaster-like structure that that tilts up and down, bumps, and curves based on the intensity of the music. Now, the game part comes in with the colored blocks that are synchronized to the rhythm. Your car thing collects them into square like this, and you have to get the matching colors in a row/block. Then, if that's not enough of a challenge, there are other cars that add exotic abilities like jumping or pushing blocks into another column. The blocks are worth different amounts of points, you try to get the high score, blah blah, you all know the drill. I don't normally enjoy rhythm games, but this is really awesome because it's so much more. I'm so bad at it, though. :( They've taken down the direct download link, so you have to get an invite. Playing something with sudden tempo changes on one of the Mono characters is a must. Download link that may or may not work depending on the current traffic. Sorry, it's PC only. Get a real computer, you Mac losers! |
