Continuing to knock out these #1 v. #8 matches...
King Crimson for me, easily.

I'll probably be shot for this, but...Anglagard.
I love KC, I really do. But, I prefer Jordrock to almost all of KC's songs, with the exception of a few. And, let's face it...Sweden is one sweet country.

Änglagård. King Crimson may be more well-known, but the whole thing about prog. is that you love the music, even if the bands don't score high on billboards.

Oh whatever. I agree that King Crimson is probably going to win, but Anglagard sure doesn't deserve to get raped.

I think you might prefer Änglagård if you can understand what they're singing. Most of their songs lies with their lyrics.

King Crimson- possibly the greatest prog band in history, with an unbelievably versatile and yet enjoyable catalogue of albums. Their career probably strikes me as the most impressive of all!
Änglagård- released one decent album.

Änglagård is just Hybris(masterpiece) and a good album(Epilog).
King Crimson is some masterpieces and almost all of the other albuns are good, so I go for them.

Have you heard the other one? But well, even though Hybris is pretty damn close to a masterpiece and Epilog seems to be really good too, I've got no choice but to go for Crimson. Everything they released between 69 and 74 is great, and Power to Believe is fantastic too. I'm not excited about the 80s stuff, but THRAK sounds very promising and I've added that one to my shopping list.

Not such an easy choice for me, but I had to go with KC.

One of my favorite songs ever is Jordrok, and Hybris is one of my favorite albums. But the fact is that KC had played some much pretty and groundbreaking music since the early 70's, and so it is not proper to compare them with a group that made only two great albums. It is easier to disband after two awesome studio albums and a decent live than to operate so much musical research and assume possible flop.
KC's discography not only contains fantastic albums, but they are still present after almost forty years of a prolific and unique carreer, they deserve more esteem than Anglagard.

these "prog tournaments" are turning out to be quite predictably one sided. Went for King Fripp here though.

King Crimson just has a larger catalogue... I love Änglagård, but there's pretty much just Hybris. Epilog isn't THAT good. It's good, very good if you like, but not AS good as like... 5 of Crimson's albums. King Crimson, it's a pretty easy choise... but I prefer Hybris to anything Crimson has ever made ;)

Yeah, I figured I'd knock out the four most easily lopsided ones first. There are also some others that may turn out pretty lopsided (the other four #2 v. #7's in this first round too), but if you're interested how everything looks for the first round of matchups refer to my original poll.

I heard very few lyrics when I listened to Hybris, and none in Epilog... lyrics may add to the songs, but I'm pretty sure what makes Anglagard good is their composition. Anyway, Crimson for me.
