Mencia from the list, but Dane Cook is the worst "comedian" ever. Has he ever told a single joke in his career?

What? Maher rules!!! Mencia sucks a little.... I agree with the above post: Dane cook is not funny, he's just gross, shocking, he has NEVER told a JOKE... do not compare him with Lewis BLack, Chris rock, Pryor, Seinfeld, this Cook guy is just shocking and grotesque... but people find them funny... maybe it's me the one thatdoesn't know better...Smile

I like him, but there's no doubt those guys are better.
As for Maher....I just don't find him funny. Like Bill Hicks (I feel like I'm about to be sniped), I thought he would make a great social critic, but I did not find up funny at all.

I like both these guys. Unhappy I mean, there is definitely better out there, but I like them.

Not Dane Cook though, he fails quite miserably.

I can't say I've heard of Bill Maher, but I don't think Carlos Mencia is funny at all.  Comedy Central just gave him a show to be a cheap (and crappy) replacement for Chapelle's Show.  And Dane Cook isn't very funny either from what I've heard of him.

Neither of them are funny in any way, but I'll vote for Carlos Mencia just for being so incredibly overrated.  It seems like everyone  does that stupid "dut de dut" thing now. It's not funny when he does it and it's just annoying when you get three of four per conversation.  He also promotes the idea that sterotypes and racism are funny.

I assume the majority of people on this forum are out of school and don't see his effects on kids, but, at least in my school, it's huge and its getting out of hand.

I am, but my younger brother is still in school, and you are absolutely right.

Yes, and you only see a little bit of it. I hear racial slurs every day. Not directed at me mind you, but its still unnerving

Mencia and Cook are both Dead but a lot of comedy's pretty stale today....you have all the same generic jokes (women be bitches and guys are horny and arrogant, differences between black people and white people, etc.) there are still a few good ones out there, but for the most part, all the good ones are dead

I always thought Paula Poundstone was one of the funniest and most original comedians out there. She never resorted to shock tactics or vulgarity either. Too bad her little alcohol problem destroyed her career.
