Hi everbody.. Smile

Just wanted to introduce myself briefly..
I am 18 years old, live in copenhagen, Denmark, and i am Italian on my mothers side.

I can't say that i have been listening to prog for a long time, i'm kind of a newbie..

Nevertheless my interest to alternative music has grown a lot the recent time, and the reason i have signed up is that i am hoping to expand my musical horizon and learn to know a lot of fantastic music, instead of all the boring music they play in the radio and shown on mtv ( i know, off course there are a few exceptions)

My friend introduced me to The Mars Volta, and i loved them immediately, i guess they are my favourite band at the moment..

Other bands that i like  (i know, only few of them are actually prog, but it is just to give you hint of my taste)

Muse
Deftones (saturday night wrist, and white Pony)
Team Sleep
At the drive-in
QOTSA
Pink Floyd ( saw Roger Waters at the Roskilde festival this summer, awsome!)
Bowie
Tool ( saw them at Roskilde to, amazing as well!)
Lou Reed
Dredg (after reading a review a few days ago i bought El Cielo, sounds promising)

Ciao!

Welcome Matteo,

since your italian roots (and nickname) you should try some good italian prog album!!Wink

Contemporary bands: La Maschera di Cera their last album LuxAde (2006); Ubi Maior's Nostos (2005); Mangala Vallis' Lycanthrope (2005) et cetera...

Classic bands... well there is a huge amount...you should start with the big three (Le Orme, PFM and Banco del Mutuo Soccorso).
