Topic: Alientar and Hawkwind Posted: August 18 2006 at 04:20 |
Hey everybody,
I...think...this is the right place to post...
I just stumbled across a nice review of our album on this site, so I figured I'd make a post and maybe attract a few more people to our website(s), so we'd get a few more listeners! Here is the review by Bob McBeath (scroll to the bottom):
http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_CD.asp?cd_id=8745
Hope you enjoy something. We put up a new live recording every couple weeks or so on our official website and also our myspace.com/alientar site as well. So, check back if you're interested. We have over 60 pieces of music spanning various genres, so you'll get a better idea of what we do. We're mixing down our second effort right now.
Interestingly, we often get comparisons to Hawkwind, which is intriguing, since most of Alientar doesn't really listen to Hawkwind all that much. But, we'd certainly like more Hawkwind fans to hear us and if possible, help us connect with any like-minded touring bands coming through California...
Finally, if you're ever in the San Francisco Bay Area, check our gig calendar and send us an email! We like to know who is listening....
Thanks for reading this ALIENTAR plug!

Sounds interesting, Hawkwind is a very good band. I'll look around for your CD, hopefully someone will be selling it on Ebay.

The track 'Music Box' which autoplays on the MySpace site certainly sounded Hawkwindy - rather more proggy than the Hawks tend to be these days, though. I liked the page enough to bookmark it!
PS listening to 'Good Luck' now and was amused at the intro, which sounds very like 'Urban Guerilla' :)
