It depends. When the chart was first created I said that a band will be added if they have 3 yes votes. But it turned out that this was too simple an approach ... so we introduced the "discuss" section.

Currently these are the rules that I use to maintain the chart:

- Any band that is suggested for addition is added to the "new" section.
- Bands in the "new" (or "rejected") section that have 3 positive votes are moved to the "discuss" section.
- Bands in the "new" section that have 3 negative votes are moved to the "rejected" section - unless they also have 3 positive votes (then the previous rule applies).
- Bands in the "discuss" section which have 5 yes votes are moved to the "cleared" section (with very few exceptions)
- Most other bands in the "discuss" section remain there until the team has cleared their addition in a chat.
- Any band which is in the "cleared" section can be added to the archives at any time ... in most cases any delay is caused by the biography. If you want to speed up the addition of cleared bands you can help by submitting a suitable biography ... however, copying an existing biography (even from the band website) is not acceptable without explicit approval of the author(s).

You've heard it from the master himself.

I think delay by way of biography is a bit of an understatement.  I think "lazy people who don't want to add the bands" is a little more accurate. Wink

I think biographies are only half the battle.  Getting all of the discographies in order for older bands is a bigger challenge, we have the discography teams, but who wants to add a band with an inferior discography?

Anyone having problems with Discographies is more than welcome to contact me and I will be more than happy to gather all the information (if available) and upload it to the site Smile

As for Bio's, I am simply not the suitable guy for the job. I am working on two bio's now which take me much time. I have written one bio already and I am not too satisfied with it, but it's alright. For me those additions are being stalled becuase of the bio's. That is why I have asked my fellow RIO team mates to help me with it. I gathered all the knfo for the band bio, today I made a small draft of how the bio shuold be and what shuold it contain, and they will do the main composition and I the discography.

Biographies can delay an addition, some of these bands are obscure and finding good concrete info that fulfill all the biography requirements can be tough sometimes.

None of the PMT is lazy, all of us add bands pretty regularly.

Yeah, I know.  We all work hard, it just seems like it so hard for us to make progress if you know what I mean.
