The PFM 2006 tour will make a stop in the progressive rock bastion of Seoul, South Korea!  I haven't put on a PFM LP in many years - I dig their style and all, but I just can't seem to get into them....sort of the same with me with Gentle Giant.  A great second tier prog band, I guess.

My problem:  I'd like to see the show....very few bands end up in Seoul and PFM would be the first classic prog band to make a stop in yonks (Dream Theater always finds their way here...wish they'd lose the directions!)...it's just that I need some inspiration.

Can someone here on our forum convince me to go?  Or, can someone talk me out of going?  I'd like to share some views on PFM circa 2006....anyone seen them lately?
I like to feel the suspense when you're certain you know I am there.....

I have seen them a couple of month ago here in Switzerland. Although they have a new album out called "Dracula", they didn't play a single note of it!!! Instead, they played the classics from the seventies, and few hits of the eighties. What was really impressive, where the 5 improvisations they did. The show alternates classics with instrumentals constructed on films they show during the concert. So, a visual and acustical experience. OVERWHELMING! I've seen PFM live 5 times in my life, but this is by far the better show af them all. Even for someone who doesn't know the band at all, it's quite an experience. If I were you, I'll take the chance, no doubt....

In my opinion a PFM show is are like a kind of lesson about the history of prog rock... They're not trying to promote new albums but just enjoy themselves performing their great classics... If you have not seen them live yet, go to the show, you won't regret it...
