It's good you make the distinction of status, not sound. I completely agree.
Lucky for us progressive-rock fans a magazine has exposed the name progressive rock. You know there's some kid out there now googling "prog rock", perhaps this website will come up. The kids who consider Mars Volta emo/indie are just stupid and dreaming, I guess we can't change that right now.
It's great that the Mars Volta gets reviewed so much because many critics call them influenced by bands like Genesis, Yes, Pink Floyd, and King Crimson. I personally would like to see some change in the music industry, even if prog-rock never has the spotlight again. Where is the talent?
