Yes, if you want to send a private message  that no one except the addressee will be able to see, you should either click on Send Private Message  button that appears under their posts, or in their profile. You can also follow the ReadPrivate Messenger link on the top of the page and go to New Private Message, type the username and send your message. You can delete PM's by going to Private Messenger Inbox.
