'Somewhere in France was a  project/record by Hugh Hopper and Richard Sinclair, recorded in 1983 and released in 1996.Tthis project took a long time to see the light of day. Way back in the 70's Hugh Hopper wanted to work together again with his Wild flowers stablemate Richard Sinclair. Finally the recording took place in 1983 in the mythical french Studio/Club 'A l'Ouest de Grosne' de Jacky Barbier, who did a lot to support Canterbury bands and musicians, but the record was only released in 1996. Beside  H.Hopper on bass, keys and lyrics and  R. Sinclair on guitar, bass and vocals, there are  Serge Bringolf on drums and percussion and Jacky Babier and two of his friends Pascale and Helene (reminding the 'Northerettes') on occasional background vocals. This is a very intimate record, a Canterbury chamber work. The overall athmosphere is laid back and jazzy, constructed around the typical Sinclair vocals and the tongue in cheek lyrics of Hugh Hopper. My favourite tracks are 'Keep on caring' and 'Only the brave' both Sinclair compositions. If you like 'Canterbury' in general and Richard Sinclair in particular go for it.

Tadpoles keep screaming in my ear
"Hey there! Rotter's Club!
Explain the meaning of this song and share it"

Goodness me, I have no option but to try and get hold of this record! As a big fan of Richard Sinclair I humbly thank you for this info.
I was made to love magic
