It could be about a specific movie, movie itself, etc..

Hi,
I'm not sure I have an example at this moment, but one book is special about many of these kinds of things, and some of them not funny. ALTMAN ON ALTMAN is a hilarious book in that it is mostly about all of RA's pranks ... shooting during a first rehearsal without the actors knowing ... and then shooting a scene that actors think is the take, and it was never shown or used at all ... and the one that many actors did not like ... sudden changes to the script, and many of these did not get used at all ... RA was looking for the reaction instead! He has no issues with his actors however, he likes to keep them unaware of when the cameras are actually on, because he has found over the years, that the best takes are elsewhere in the formative moments of a scene. But I'm not aware of any actors that walked out of his productions because of it ... most of them were not even close to aware of what was going on when the camera, supposedly, was running! A really good and fun read, though it feels like a lot of actors, are not actually that good and ready for the "moment" and think that a quick acting trick or so, will do the job ... RA knows better! And this tends to hide some folks lack of ability in acting, specially the famous show off Hollywood types. Another weird one, was Donald Sutherland talking about Fellini and the Casanova film, which DS thought would be serious, and it looks like FF was having fun with it instead, as he did in so many films, thus, DS thinking it was all important and serious ... was likely the part he did not get right! Haven't seen this film as yet for some reason.

Hi, Not exactly very original, but visually it added to the stunning films of the time and place, like 2001 did, that eventually got a Cinerama Dome stint ... in 180 degree screen and sound all around kind of thing. But there was, in Brazil a song by Maria Betania, that was the precursor to that movie, and had already seen the future, so to speak. I really thought the film was not that great in that visual sense, and that a lot of it was done for the effect, never mind the story or anything else. The lyrics of that song (not complete here) ... There in the backlands It's an animal that flies like an airplane
It's an evil bird
It has a beak that's curved like a hawk
The carcara, when it sees a burnt field
It flies away and sings, carcara
It goes hunting
The carcara
It even eats burnt snakes
When wintering time comes
In the backlands there are no more burnt fields
The carcara still doesn't go hungry
