This comes form my AwesomeProg lists which I also copied over here for ease of forum reference, and asked others to share their lists. Richard has done an awesome job with his lists there, and of course thanks to Mike for providing that awesome resource which I hope many more use. Incidentally, if it were my site I would want ads to subsidise it, and I would visit it with an aggressive ad blocker most of the time. ;) Here are my lists of up to top 20 per year: https://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=134499

I did an eight by eight by eight series recently doing the years from 2024 to 1995, with eight from the PA chart, eight from the Collab AOTY event, and eight of my personal favourites. For the last of those, 2005, I opted not to have an "other" option because if people like nothing from the list they can still mention any others and add a ninth fave of mine.

This poll too has no other option, and in fact I have 10 from 1969. If Joy of a Toy OR Arzachel is your choice for 1969, then please mention in post which you voted for.

Multiple votes are enabled. Please try to vote for one album per year/section (one album in the first eight options, one album in the second eight options and one album in the third ten options) that you like. And please vote for no more than one per year, and no more than one vote for an option please.

If you can only reasonably vote for one or two albums album that you like from the poll, in other words just one for one of those years or one for one year and one from another, that's fine.

Mention any others you like that are not on the list, but then please mention any you do like from the list and if you like none of them, please mention that
.

The numbering is fairly arbitrary but it can help to define the sections.

Thanks!

So try to vote for one album from each yearly list below:

1967

1. The Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground & Nico (not in PA)
2. Love - Forever Changes (not in PA)
3. Leonard Cohen - Songs of Leonard Cohen (not in PA)

5. Mort Garson - The Zodiac - Cosmic Sounds
6. H.P. Lovecraft - H.P. Lovecraft

5. Pink Floyd - A Saucerful of Secrets
6. Dr. John - Gris-Gris (not in PA)
7. The Incredible String Band - The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter

Yes, indeed, it's wonderful album. And like the majority of what I listen to, I don't think I would have discovered it had it not been for the internet. It actually was one of my early discoveries when I started internet-researching for albums to listen (in the first half of the 2000s). It remains one of my favourite discoveries.

1967 Piper, 1968 US of A. Ah, 1969 is terrible. So many favourites! I vote for Mercator Projected as all the other favourites (no. 1-7) already have votes. It could well compete even without that reason, and that's quite something.

^ Can't decide between multiple liked albums makes me pleased to see. It certainly is much better than, say, "None of the above, where the heck is The Shagg's Philosophy of the World?" (a "bad" album I love).

EDIT: Incidentally, I also am pleased to see posts like, "I don't like any of the listed options, but here are my favourites from 1967, 1968 and 1969." I appreciate those who take the time to post as long as there is not "complaining" about what is listed and what is not listed and as long as people at least try to say something about any of the options if they can, be it positive/praising, neutral, or critical (or just mentioning them I mean is fine too. I appreciate those who take the time and show enough interest to post. Some prefer to vote without posting, not something I do, and that's fine too, but I like the sense of connection when there are posts even when ideas are at odds, but still can be warm and civil).
