I'd say Ozzy, but it's Diary not the first.   Among the greatest heavy metal records ever made, maybe the greatest.

Black Sabbath then Ozzy's Blizzard of Oz

Saw one of Ozzy's first UK gigs on the Blizzard of Oz tour, 1980, was doing work experience at the local Odeon theatre... Pure excellence! Randy Rhodes was a fantastic guitarist!! I tried to get Ozzy's autograph but he was being sneaked out the back under a blanket and Sharon told me to 'F**k off Kid'

Sabbath. The original.
...a vigorous circular motion hitherto unknown to the people of this area, but destined
to take the place of the mud shark in your mythology...

She is a piece of work.

Sharon bought herself a "new bum" and felt she had to tell everyone she did.

I had another (very different) run in with SO many years later; I had to take her and her entourage around a property i was manager of. Some of her 'crew' were lovely and very interested in what we were doing but she was BORED and just wanted to get to the gift shop to spend a vast amount of money in the gift shop (and i mean vast..) It was a pity Ozzy wasnt with her, i think he would have enjoyed the flowers...Wink

I think by that time she'd pretty much bought herself a new everythingWink

I saw Ozzy with Blizzard of Oz in Utica, New York in July of 1981; opening for him was The Rods and Def Leppard on their first North American tour. Fantastic show.
Voted for the Black Sabbath debut.

Voted for the debut.

Any reason why Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow (Dio) or Black Country Communion (Hughes) is not included?

When this series is over, you should combine for the ultimate Black & Purple poll. The amount of crossover between the two groups is overwhelming.
