I'm glad you don't allow the discussion of politics here

On other sites where allowed, you get the same Conservatives and Liberals arguing the same things over and over again, each claiming the other side does not know what they are talking about, along with the usual "idiot", "moron" name calling

Despite this, they continue to argue the same politics with such "idiots" they claim "don't know what they are talking about"

Often this reaches 200 to 300 comments a day on such sites

Don't need this here

So you felt the need to start a thread titled "politics" just to say you are glad it's not discussed here?

Actually, it used to be allowed and I think sometimes politics or political topics pop up in the OT forums but usually they are closed before too long.

It's not totally banned, we can mention the politic messages of, say, albums if analysing them/ discussing the albums (but I would say avoid making that aspect the focus). We are asked to keep our own personal politics to ourselves and not highlight or make political topics for the sake of the politics.

Not sure why this is in the Prog Music lounge rather than, say, General Discussions. Anyway, nice to nice the move was supported, but there is a temporary moratorium on topics about Political topics.

We have had other topics discussing the moratorium, topics about not allowing political discussions (the topics on the subject of not allowing political discussions), and those just present more problems. So moving to General Discussions and closing this.
