Looking for a prog keyboardist

Just reading the OP prior to looking at the thread, you know what went through my head?

Any university with upper level music department, and watch how many piano/keyboard players are frustrated with their instructors because nothing they can come up with is good enough ... just think of Keith Emerson if he ever brought his Tarkus score (and others!!!) to a professor of his in the late 60's ... the professor would have said this is crap and makes no sense and it has its continuity broken up!

So you change the instrument from a piano to several keyboards and you illustrate the music your own way and in the end, fly the biggest finger EVER to any professor of music ....in most schools ... I keep thinking of Berklee that can teach, but the folks that we know from there are so regimented to one thing, that it takes the beauty of music in the past 500 years out of the equation!

Maybe it is my own revolt against some academic stuff, but in the end, the majority of "freedom" that brought us new music did NOT, at first made its name in the music school ... and I think that is an important thing to consider ... do you really want something that is basically "known" and already designed and formatted, or do you want your piece to fly away ... and take us to another sphere?

I like to say, you have to think about your feeling, regardless of the things you hear ... what you hear is not ... almost always ... what you want or think you should have ... and this is the secret for most creative folks out there, that don't need to listen to anything but themselves when they play and define what they hear in their head.

That's the reason why I put a note at the top. But you know how it feels for me, a writer with lots of poetry, short stories and a couple of novels ... I am not sure I ever felt, or needed, anyone to write a passage for one of my stories or poems, although in my days with the Ygdrasil Journal of Poetic Arts, I did write a few things with other folks ... we kinda did it intentionally ... you got 2 lines, I get 2 lines and so on, though Klaus Gerken and I ended up doing things much longer and interesting ... all of it in the spirit of creativity and open-ness.
