3 stars 1994: Geoff Downes - Evolution

Yes, I know I'm Livin' on a Prayer if I think Heaven & Earth has an earthly chance of winning this poll. Tongue

This is the first time I've ever voted for Heaven & Earth. Astra isn't too far behind. I vaguely remember a day when the Earth was inside a huge pair of pants.

Wetton Downes (and not really a favorite in my list). The rest, I don't really care for.

Not a lot to vote for here.
Went with Yes, with Asia just behind. Neither album spends a lot of time on the turntable.
Welcome to the middle of the film.

It's probably the only time Heaven & Earth stands an earthly chance of winning a poll, even though it still remains one of my favourite YES albums. Embarrassed

Fair enough. I think of it more as a middle-of-the-road kind of album, comparable to The Ladder. I think it's better than The Quest. I'll probably get my prog credentials revoked for saying that. It's a long way from something like Relayer, but it's a pleasant enough listen. It certainly has a good shot in this poll.

Admittedly, if the results of this poll are anything to go by, my own personal 4-star rating for "Heaven & Earth" may look a trifle over-optimistic in retrospect. Tongue
