announced a couple of times dead in the last few years, this time, it's official For me, along with Mama Béa Tekielski (similar artistic 70's trajectory and would deserve inclusion here), she was the heiress of the Beats (Beat Poets) like Burroughs or Ginsberg. RIP Catherine Thanks for the social consciousness. You were quite an inspiration in mine (consciousness)

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter keep our sand-castle virtues content to be a doer as well as a thinker, prefer lifting our pen rather than un-sheath our sword |

This is sad news. I'm a great admirer of hers. A unique artist. Although I don't do not understand french, I felt the depth and seriousness of her lyricism. I hope she died feeling she had lived a full and fullfilling life.

I've decided to spin Ame debout all next week as a tribute to her. It's so hard to even imagine her being 82, and sadly being in a nursing home. Rest in peace Catherine.

For those interested in knowing more, there is a thread on PE discussing her (and linked chanteurs engagés)
