This is so interesting. The official partrait of King Charles seems to me a production of a fan of King Crimson. He must have drawn influence of that album. Is Jonathan Yeo really the fan of King Crimson?

Sorry, I forgot giving out more details on this issue. Here's the link to check out "King Crimson".

Durned redcoat! The rusted chains of prison moons are shattered by the son.
A crimson king is a bloody ruler who presides over instability.

I’ve seen on many forums now two of this same painting placed side by side in a mirror image. There’s a huge Baphomet and other gnarly demons. I sh*t you not! When turned upside down in this mirrored image there is a king in shackles. I’m not the only one noticing it. It’s like a demonic Rorschach test. Crazy! Could be AI meddled with but as far as I can tell the artist took some liberties with Charlie.

More like The Picture of Dorian Gray. And like the infernal picture in Oscar Wilde's story, King Charles' hellscape portrait should be kept locked away and out of sight.

Think of King Charles what you want (personally I'm not really interested in monarchs), but that painting is fun.

It does come across as ominous to me, but I really like the colour palette and painting overall. EDIT: Sinister is an apt descriptor for the crimson King. If I were the religious type, I might take it as a sign that Armageddon is upon us (well, I kind of think it might well be). Not a re-assuring portrait of a King.

Looks like Harrison Ford in Star Wars Episode 5
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

My first response when seeing the painting was a bit of shock. All the red does not correspond to my image of Charles III. As I have looked at it more, though, I have to regard it as a very good painting. Many ambient and not-so ambient details. What strikes me most is the contrast between the violent red and the benign expression on his face. This is what reminds me of King Crimson the most - the contrast between blazing and gentility. We do not have to go far to hear that with KCs music: Listen to 21st Centry Schizoid Man followed by I Talk to the Wind.
The world of sound is certainly capable of infinite variety and, were our sense developed, of infinite extensions. -- George Santayana, "The Sense of Beauty"

Wait until you get a gander at what they want us to believe the new princess Kate looks like. If you’ve been following her lovers Demise and her disappearance.

^ That's very ugly - made by a child? I do like the portrait of King Charles though, refreshingly daring for a royal portrait...

That is really hilarious. Btw, what do the Russian phrases on the green picture mean? They give me an inspiration to replace that face with Putin's portrait...

It's supposed to say 'Type O Negative - Dead Again" with Cyrillic alphabet but I don't think it's done right. LOL

Though some hues in this pic come close to crimson, I cannot help but associate the portrayed bloke with the King of the Land of Grey and Pink.

Being American....I never understood the current 'need' for a monarchy. It's 2024 why are such things still supported by people ?
I think it's a well done painting though the red is a bit much as is the butterfly.

Also dont really get the King Crimson reference..................or definition of a 'crimson king'. I was under the impression it  was created by Stephen King for his novels especially the Dark Tower series.
Also as to King Crimson it is supposed to refer to Beelzebub-(Arabic 'B'il A Sabab.) ...man with an aim. From the writings of  G I Gurdjieff (Beelzebub Tales To His Grandson) who Fripp liked.

Is everyone overthinking this beacuse it is a red painting ?
