I saw that M@x had checked in yesterday, thanks for notifying him, but not sure if he was able to do anything yet (such issues often are not easy to fix without turning off features which one wants for the site/ forum). ^^ thanks David, I have managed to contact Max by PM before, but will PM Julien to ask him to use however he has managed to contact Max before in order to address these concerns as that might at the least expedite matters. Easy Money has also spoken to Max about site issues.

I've looked into this, and it seems like the script gets injected into every <body> element, including that of the post editor, where it then ends up as plain text when the forum software parses the content. Switching to the non-wysywig editor fixes this because it uses a <textarea> instead. Logan, maybe you can let M@x know that the proper fix would be to skip the WYSIWYG text editor body (which has a special class and thus should be easy to exclude) when injecting the scripts.

^ Julien from the E&O team is able to get in touch with M@X. He recently got him to fix the long-standing problem with the admin panel which caused it to replace letters which have diacritics above them with some unpronounceable garbage.

^ I actually prefer the not so pretty lists (without the album covers). Anyway, I'm hoping that M@x will be able to address this and this will only be a temporary thing. NOTE: I am trying to contact M@x via PM, but hope others might try to contact him (like on FB or wherever).

OK, I think I can handle it (it's not different to other forums), but this is probably going to be a the cost of fewer posts from me, because it will take a lot longer to type them, if not automatic scripts.

Note: There has been more script being added to posts to the point that it is often hard to read through posts and threads. While one could avoid that by disabling the WYSIWYG pots editor in your forum preferences, many have not been doing so. Upon a recommendation, I have globally turned off the post editor.
As I turned it off, it does not show up as an option any more. The initials stand for What You See Is What You Get. It's a rich text editor that shows you a preview of the finished post and you can paste in rich text, images, hyperlinks... It's most valuable for ease of pasting, and we still have a preview button. I suggest using the full reply editor if that makes it easier to read your posting box (see the "male" arrow like symbol). |

^ There are many programs out there to covert .jpgs to other formats. Then you could, upload to your FIle Manger under Control Panel then link it using the img BB code. That said, it can work for .gif and .png and I don't know how many image extensions.

When you look up, say google images, a lot are with code to make it hotlinkable (or very hard to), but, while minding intellectual property rights/ copyrights, amny times things can be saved to your computer and then uploaded. The image code only works if the image link ends in .jpg. However, today most image links have a completely different look, and they do not work with this code. Question: how to place links to pictures of a different type? Or how to turn another link into a link so it ends with .jpg? |

Yeah, the real problem is what is off the board with this site. The forum software is by Web Wiz, and they provide updates now and then. This is not the best version, but it has been improved. Could do some things with revising the scope and heading of the actual forums in the board, I think, to make it better. And maybe adjusting some forum settings. Often there's some give and take and one adapts the best one can.
The rest of the site is more of an issue, as the architecture would benefit from a major overhaul, in fact a rebuild (kind of like the great pyramid of Giza, which could use a lot of reconstruction to turn it into a really useful and productive space, like, say the world's largest Pizza Hut (the Great Pyramid of Giza Hut), McDonald's, or a sporting goods store). I have found it mostly running pretty smoothly recently. Various changes were made my the webmaster that have helped. |

^ Yeah, it works universally. One issue that has been raised about not using it is that you lose out on various options (like colour coding) , but I find manually using the BB codes very easy (though I have to remember to spell it color, not colour). I almost exclusively have kept that editor turned off for many years. I only use it when I want to import (paste) thinks from elsewhere and keep the format/ rich text... Like having a snapshot.
