Following on from Recent Prog Discoveries 1980-1999, these are some of the "new" artists I've discovered from my recent series of Post-1970's Prog polls. Predictably, the list is heavy on the symphonic again and very light on anything that's remotely avant garde or metallic. There's a surprisingly strong showing for the Swedes in this list but with barely any showing at all for the turnips. Ouch Shocked Wacko

Btw, I'd say that Taal's Skymind (2003), which I'm fond of, is both metallic and avantgardish.

Yes, Sweden has beaten England 5-2 in this line-up and Das Boot is on zee other foot for the Germans too with only one band (Sylvan) in the list, and having included a Russian band (the ironically named Little Tragedies), I couldn't forget my Ukraine Ways with Karfagen. Smile

Swedes is the English name for the rutabaga root vegetable, England played like a bunch of root vegetables, hence turnips.

I've just added Haken to the list at the top of the page. I had no idea they were British until today, so I've added them to my Prog Britannia playlists too. Thumbs Up

You must have read my mind. I was just about to mention Sanguine Hum, having added them to my playlists after you mentioned them recently. With a name like Sanguine Hum though, I had no idea they were British up until last week. I've also added Sanguine Hum to the list at the top of the page, along with Haken. Thumbs Up
