let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter keep our sand-castle virtues content to be a doer as well as a thinker, prefer lifting our pen rather than un-sheath our sword |

For those who might be interested in the American Pre-Punk/Proto-Punk, Punk, Art Punk and Post-Punk (1961-80), I'd like to mention the very informative and well-written book From the Velvets to the Voidoids. A Pre-Punk History for a Post-Punk World (1993) by Clinton Heylin. Edited by David_D - April 11 2022 at 05:13 |

And how to miss a bit of early 70's lyrics like these ![]() Led Zeppelin - "Stairway to Heaven" (a part of) There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold And she's buying a stairway to heavenWhen she gets there she knows if the stores are all closed With a word she can get what she came for and she's buying a stairway to heaven ................ There's a feeling I get when I look to the west And my spirit is crying for leavingIn my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke through the trees And the voices of those who stand looking And it's whispered that soon if we all call the tune Then the piper will lead us to reasonAnd a new day will dawn for those who stand long And the forests will echo with laughter And it makes me wonder
