Topic: Innapropriate Posts Posted: October 02 2021 at 13:01 |
Just wanted to make the admins. aware of a couple of rude, innapropriate and unnecessary posts after my posting of a photo of prog musician Helmut Koellen on the Interesting Prog Photos thread today. The remarks on the two posts below mine are very insulting to the musician I revere, and would like them removed. Thank you.

I don't know if those two posts are rude, sarcastic or just nothing at all. I for one can't tell.

Links to the posts please. With the star left of the "Posted: x minutes ago" at the top of a post you can copy a direct link to the post. Hyperlinks make things quite a bit easier for us. I'll look it up though.

I feel the first comment is rather sarcastic in tone, as I tend to be known to post about Triumvirat a lot, and the second comment has lmao which translates as "laughing my ass off" and xd something similar "laughing with eyes closed and mouth open" -both insulting and uncalled for, I feel.

^ Thanks. I doubt everyone knows about direct linking to posts.
Rednights' could be taken as rude if takes something in a bad way personally, wouldn't be the first time, but I don't see it as abusive. It's a fact, you are a remarkably big fan. You often mention HK and Triumvirat, and there's nothing wrong with that. If you were insecure about that, but then I would not have thought you'd be comfortable sharing that so much. He means lot to you, and I appreciate that you share that so I don't think you should feel any need to feel sensitive about it, not that you are saying you are. I don't see it as insulting to the musician by alluding to your devotion or that it is an expected response from you. Lots of us post fairly predictable things, at least we know each other enough to notice.
I'm a big fan of many things, and people have pointed that out to me. I have been known as the Zardoz guy, and I'm not ashamed to love a film featuring a man with a very hairy chest in a red loincloth.
As for Hrychu's comment, can't see any abuse there, but maybe I'm missing something? Don't see why that is insulting to the musician at all, but maybe you are reading into it something that I am not seeing.
There's some kidding around, but not abuse that I see, and certainly not to the artist. If we got rid of unnecessary posts, I think we'd have to pretty much delete the forum.

Thanks for your reply, Logan. I may have taken things a bit too personally or seriously. I can see the points you are making, and am willing to let it pass by. It's ok.

Thanks for this info... I've always wanted to know how to link to a post (and assumed that one can only link to a thread).

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

Doug, no offense but....you just posted this thread regarding a previous thread where you mentioned Triumvirat (and Helmut) being your favorite, and how you were offended by someone who posted he was unsurprised that you mentioned Triumvirat...yet again.
Your Triumvirat posts are as ubiquitous as Mosh posting the inevitable "Hi" to preface each of his errant rambles. They are an inherent part of the PA experience. Like avocado-colored appliances in a 1970s kitchen. Or perhaps harvest gold, if you prefer. No big deal.
