This was a really tough year to find ten 5-star albums for, but with a little help from PA's top albums list for this year, I found a few more outstanding albums to complete my Top 10. Smile

Jean Pierre Alarcen - Tableau No. 1
Anyone's Daughter - Adonis
Asia Minor - Crossing the Line
Tony Banks - A Curious Feeling
Eloy - Silent Cries & Mighty Echoes
The Enid - Touch Me
Flame Dream - Elements
Pierre Moerlen's Gong - Downwind
Mike Oldfield - Exposed
U.K - Night After Night

I think the first 10 are all good...my favorites being Ocean and Silent Cries...I also have Visionary from 2009...found it used for $5 on cd ...not bad.

The Year of the Downfall. Too few to mention. UK - Danger Money stands out. Eloy - Silent Cries and Mighty Echoes and Steve Hackett - Spectral Mornings are certainly worth a mention. If there are any more, I have not heard them yet*.

*Ok, The Wall is decent, but it can hardly keep up with the albums in the years of earlier top 10's.

Hi,

Mike Oldfield - Exposed
Tangerine Dream - Force Majeure
Rickie Lee Jones - Rickie Lee Jones
Holger Czukay - Movies

For sure ... and dig the drumming in the first 3 RLJ albums. It made her voice even better.

Mike's album is probably one of the best live albums EVER done.

Holger's album is fantastic and not only amusing but far out. Sadly, in a mail to me, later, he says he didn't like it, and I think he did way too much editing and fooling around, and it burned him out on it. There was less of it in the next album and even less from them on ... but I sure loved that one piece on a later album that I call the USC Marching Band on ACID.

TD's album is not always liked by most TD fans, but it is a really good one, and progressive when compared to what they usually did.
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

1) Supertramp - Breakfast in America
2) Anthony Phillips - Sides
3) UK - Danger Money
4) Mike Oldfield - Platinum
5) Steve Howe - The Steve Howe Album
6) Kansas - Monolith

8) Steve Hackett - Spectral Mornings
9) Led Zeppelin - In Through the Out Door
10) Fleetwood Mac - Tusk (OK, it's not prog, but it's an experimental masterpiece that I never get tired of listening to!)
