I've been in quite the jazzy mood for some time now and I wonder what albums should I listen to? Please, fellow forum users, recommend your all-time jazz fusion favorites because I'd love to research some new names.

JL Ponty has a slew of delicious releases: Enigmatic Ocean, Cosmic Messenger and Mystical Adventures.
Less known is PSI- Horizonte from Germany , the two Moogg albums from Italy are stunning. Isotope has a few amazing albums , and there is Gary Boyle-the Dancer. Secret Oyster from Denmark , Sean Son and Straight to the Krankenhaus. Solution from Holland- Cordon Bleu . Ever heard Sunbirds? a 1971 classic . I have easily 40 more to recommend |

I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

Great topic! Some of my favorites include:
a) Return to Forever - my personal favorite is "Where have I known you before?" b) Stanley Clarke - his first self-titled LP is great, and "School Days" is excellent! c) Brand X - my favorite remains "Masques" d) Mahavishnu Orchestra - check out "Visions of the Emerald Beyond" |

I'd recommend anything by Hammond keyboard player Brian Auger, and the Dutch band Solution are very good too. I could go on, so I will:- Audience; Affinity; Alquin; Ayers Rock, and that's before I even get on to the letter "B"

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

I will choose a few less known albums: The United Jazz and Rock Ensemble - Live im Schützenhaus. Line-up: Jon Hiseman on drums, Eberhard Weber on acoustic and electric bass, Volker Kriegel on guitar, Wolfgang Dauner on keyboards, Barbara Thompson on saxes and flute, Charlie Mariano on saxes and flute, Albert Mangelsdorff on trombone, Ian Carr on trumpet, Ack van Rooyen on flugelhorn. A top line-up! The example track is very jazzy (I could find no other), but there are rocky ones on the album too. Volker Kriegel - Inside: Missing Link. Barbara Dennerlein - Hot Stuff Barbara Thompson's Paraphernalia - Breathless Release Music Orchestra - Garuda In Cahoots - All That Edited by BaldFriede - October 31 2020 at 17:44 |

Chick Corea's stuff from the mid-70s. I assume RTF has already been mentioned, but I'm talkin' his solo stuff.
The Leprechaun, My Spanish Heart, The Mad Hatter, Friends, Secret Agent, Tap Step. Highly relevant for prog fans.
