Hi all,
astronomer and hobby musician (a bit of every instrument), I used to listen to "classic" progrock while stargazing. Classic means globally for me the 70ties, I don't have to give the list you all know (Egg maybe?) Some years ago, webradio Aural Moon was tuned in while I was sleeping in the afternoon (an astronomer has to take forces before going into the night...also, I postpose sleeping in silence for when I died). I heard music that gave me goosebumps. Something very special is needed to get me out of my pillow...it was Magenta with a song from "Seven". A jump towards the PC just before the end of the song could let me know who was on air. Since then, and with the Progarchives website, I "discovered" tons of new (and ancient) wonderful music. Viva la musica! Patte. PS, favorites among actual bands: Big Big Train and Magenta. |

Welcome! I find that contemplation of the skies by day or night is perfectly accompanied by progressive (and other music as well). And I could be wrong, as it's mere speculation, but I feel as though much music comes from somewhere out there and finds the right people to express it. Enjoy exploring the forums, another universe for your perusal.

I'm guessing Morocco has some amazing light-pollution-free territory for stargazing. I'm not by any means an astronomer. But I might be called a "deep field enthusiast" I love trying to wrap my mind around the sheer scale of those Hubble images that contain thousands of galaxies in the billion light-year range. I'm really excited about the potential of the soon to be launched James Webb. Anyway, welcome to the site. Glad Progarchives has been another fruitful field of exploration for you.
