Ibelieve Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, and Tim Rice have crafted inspirational muaic of great poigenance, spessialy the score to Beauty and the Beast i feel the atmosphere is transparrent in bands like Nightwish.
I don't necessarily see a huge connection. Disney is obviously one of many early influences in many musicians' melodic motif repertoire, but not directly 90s, 00s (at which point the band members were adults anyways) prog metal. If I had to point to Disney films that influenced metal, I'd point to the earlier fairy tale adaptions. But, then again, I don't listen to a lot of straight up prog metal or djent.

Speaking of which, ica, you might enjoy this fantastic album (listen to it whenever you feel like): http://interarma.bandcamp.com/releases

I could never listen to a noise release at the volume they want

The Cherry Point's Night of the Bloody Tapes is my favorite noise album so far.

That ones pretty damn unrelenting. I usually prefer a bit more sonic variety.

I didn't think it too hardcore, it is defintiely noise wall but it has stuff going on underneath the surface that kees it interesting

I will come and agree with you. My favorite from their last three albums, maybe.

I don't see the connection to Disney so much though, at least with DT as a whole. They grew up in the 70's and early 80's where music from Disney movies weren't of the quality to affect such bands. I had to look it up, but movies like the Aristocats and 101 Dalmations came out in that time. I don't see anything there.

But they are eclectic and goofy at times. I really love that. For a band that runs a VERY tight ship and is very strict about playing music spot on, they unleash their humor through those other little spoofs. It's great.
