Nevermore semi prog album (well some of the songs could definitely qualify as prog metal songs, the rest are just insanely well written metal songs). My favorite metal album of 2005.

Just picked up 3 new ones (to me) that sound pretty amazing.
I got my first listen to No-Man on the Snapper reissue of "Flowermouth". It's hard to believe how prolific Steven Wilson is. Music seems to pour from him.
Also picked up Steve Hackett's "Genesis Files". I read some reviews of this compilation that said it was unnecessary, but as someone who has always found about 1/2 of his solo releases to be worthwhile, so far I'm enjoying it & the new twists on the old favorites.
And ANOTHER first listen: IQ's "Seventh House". How late was I to this party??? I never even heard of them in the 80s & I thought I was pretty knowledgable then about new bands. My only complaint after the first listen was that I wasn't too crazy about the drum sound, but maybe that's how they've always sounded & I've got to get used to it.
For an old fart, I keep trying to find new ideas & bands, & w/these 3, I think I hit the jackpot.

More Peter Gabriel 4.
Absolutely love the first couple of songs. Not entirely certain about the last couple, though.

Welcome, welcome my friend from an IQ nut. Better late than never! The Seventh House is one of my favourite albums.
