Not bad.
Yourself?

I'm good, but tired. Had David and Danny over today and we composed for a bit. That was fun.

Cool.
Get Danny on here!LOL

He made a screenname a long time ago, but he never uses it and I don't remember what it is. He should come here more often.

Well, good thing about Post metal, compositionally, the music is truly progressive, in the sense that you can't just piece together random crap like some prog bands do, but you piece together non tangential musical bits.

I know what you mean.

I love feedback from people though, but I hate when someone tries to convince me that my work is all random or half-assed, because I've put so much thought and effort into it. It just means you don't get it if you think that.

Well, it all depends really I guess.
The problem is, some people look at things purely from a compositional point of view, and the problem is with this, is even if sometimes the compositions are based somewhat around tangential fragments, you have to consider the emotional aspects.
I mean, you can have a song which doesn't always flow tangentially in compositional terms, but you can make it still flow emotionally, and to me, being able to make tangential stuff still flow emotionally in a coherent way is just as important too, and sometimes, more important perhaps.

Right. That's entirely understandable.

I mean take Opeth for example.
Watershed doesn't always necessarily flow around completely connected musical ideas, sometimes it can sound disjointed, but (to me anyway) it still has that necessary emotional flow to give the compositions an emotional coherency.

You mean In or Ex? They both sound great. Listening to Ex again now... I'm so satisfied with both of them, but Ex even more so.

Entirely different, but both did exactly what I had intended them to do conceptually. It's great to see ideas of yours actually come to life and end up being perfect.
