Every time a friend shows me their demo reel Stargate will definitely be on there . I've actually never watched the show, but the studio that it's shot at is literally right down the street from me

When I go down there for my interview (the iatse 669 Camera Union that I applied to is right across the street) I'll take a picture of the studio and the marquee - if I tell them I'm a student they might give me a tour of the studio, but holding a DSLR I doubt they'll believe me .

Apparently Phideaux is a huge SG-1 fan

Haha. I used to really like Stargate, I think I just need to get past these silly beginning episodes when they were still trying to figure out what they were doing. But the ones after O'Neil left were just awful. There's a reason Farscape was cancelled...

I really like the Britney quote in my sig, but I'm not sure what to make of it.LOL

While it does seem nauseatingly self-centered and naive at first glance, what good does money do you if you are desperately unhappy? The woman obviously has some real problems. But since she's rich, we have little sympathy, especially since she more or less exists in our minds as a creature to be viewed through the camera lens. As a society we have a shockingly small amount of empathy for mental illness.

Although she reportedly said the quote in a British accent, so what does that mean? The original source said she said that to the paparazzi, but then I later read she said it to a homeless guy who asked her for change when she didn't have her purse.

It's her god damn job. If she didn't want the paparazzi then she shouldn't be doing what she does. Let's also not forget her nervous breakdown which was no doubt an attention grab from the entire nation.

She wasn't doing anything for a long time, but people kept following her around. Because she'll always be Britney, no matter what she does.

Why does singing pop music make other people entitled to bothering her constantly and making a circus out of her life? What separates it from other jobs?

She's a public figure, a person who the masses have decided is interesting. If you're going to become famous you have to expect this kind of attention. No one cares about the life of some guy who sits on his computer, uses a camera and sometimes interviews bands (like me), people care about the people that I'm shooting, interviewing and all that stuff because they're interesting. Prog bands don't get that kind of attention only because they're interesting to a small group of people (us) as opposed to millions (Britteny) - the tabloids make tonnes of dough off of her and we're still talking about it, are we not? As for the labels, there's no bad press - even this kind of sh*t sells her records.

that britney quote is incredibly sad. i kinda feel bad for those celebrities. if Globe and Enquirer wrote that sh*t about me, i'd go out there and fingerpaint some walls with some brains.

As Mike said, the unfortunate price of fame is having paparazzi following you around 24-7.  In her case, she initially craved the attention as part of her build-up to fame, and now that she doesn't want that attention she can't get rid of it.  On the one hand, I can definitely feel sorry for her.  It would totally suck to have every time you take a crap filmed and published on the internet, tabloids, etc.  On the other hand, she chose to play the ditzy blonde, slutty songstress pop princess and having the paparazzi follow you around is part of the job description..

Sometimes I wonder why people are still eating up the sh*t that the mags/paparazzi put out.  We're so fascinated with famous people but they ain't much different than we are.
