I downloaded this album a few years ago and although I recognized it's a good album, I simply can't listen to it. The bass is in distortion and the mix just sounds horrible. Is it the same with your copy?

That one just keeps growing on me. Reminds me of "Days of Future Passed" while retaining a thoroughly modern feel.

It's been a strong day music-wise, mostly jazzy and/or ambient:

Green Violinist: More Thrill & Never Ending Blessings (in the car)
Mahavishnu Orchestra: Birds of Fire
Mahavishnu Orchestra: Visions of the Emerald Beyond
Klaus Schulze: Shadowlands (fell asleep or near-asleep on the couch to this and had the most surreal dreams)
Eluvium: Nightmare Ending (why isn't Eluvium listed here?)
Setna: Guerison (currently)

^I have one Eluvium (Similies) and have pondered his inclusion here.  Not a slam dunk, but a possibility.  Why don't you make a formal suggestion on the New Artists thread?  I can only see him as post-rock or Electronic.

Just a little today:
Anubis - A Tower Of Silence
Explosions In The Sky - Take Care, Take Care, Take Care
[still find this latter one to be by far the least of their albums]

Yeah, agreed about EITS. It just felt like they'd exhausted all their possibilities by that point...which is sad. Hope they come back stronger.

Ya, it's really frustrating that such a wonderful album was recorded so horribly Cry.  I was able to clean mine up some with Audacity so it's listenable...still not studio quality, but now I can listen without cringing...

I picked up the CD of this at least ten years ago, and although I would never get rid of it, I have to agree with the above comments, but even worse, the singer is impossible to understand most of the time, putting on those stupid characters! He sounds like Peter Gabriel's mentally challenged younger brother!

It's a shame, because the arrangements sound pretty damn good.

A pleasant shade of prog today.....;)

Dream Theater-- 6 degrees of inner turbulence (still such a treat to listen to after all these years.)
Seventh circle--The Vanishing( dark ambient electronic goth music . Very cool. Simple, but great)
Saviour Machine--Legend part 3 ( this album is so good that it leaves me feeling a bit sad after I listen to it cause it would be the final chapter in the SM legacy....an end of an age. )
I-Dragon-I-- this album is growing on me like a son of a bitch. This band used to be called THE WEDDING PARTY if anyone cares. Lol
ICE AGE--THE GREAT DIVIDE ( classic 90's prog metal.)

Gimmie my headphones now!!! 🎧🤣
