We'll make a BJH fan of you yet, Alan!  LOL
Speaking of which, this is one of my favourite songs at the moment. Thumbs Up

Well, it's improving. I managed about 3 seconds of it this time before trying to remove my ears with a blunt instrument.

I'm guessing you don't like Barclay James Harvest's "Titles" song either - another Beatles tribute. I'll spare you by not posting the video again. Tongue

Citizen Cain: a little-known Symphonic/Neo Prog band from London with a singer who sounds like a cross between Peter Gabriel & Phil Collins and with a sound that's somewhere between Genesis and Marillion, but with an instantly recognisable sound of their own. Definitely worth a listen, although I'm not sure if Orson Welles would approve. Wink

Citizen Cain's most recent album "Skies Darken" is heavier than their first four albums, sounding like Dream Theater at times, and I can't help wondering if the album title and album cover is an oblique reference to the 9/11 terror attacks in New York and Washington. Ermm

Citizen Cain is a really great band. I'm glad you enjoyed them! Thumbs Up

Citizen Cain were a recent discovery from my Post-1970's Prog polls, alongside Castanarc, Cyan & Shadowland, all of which will be coming up here sometime next year. Thumbs Up

G'day sport! Aussie songstress Lisa Gerrard is  of course best-known as the prettier half of Dead Can Dance, but she also has a long and distinguished solo career in the Neo-Classical Dark Wave genre, so get ready to settle down with some tinnies 'round the barbie because Lisa Gerrard's albums are all fair dinkum and some of them are real ripper! Smile

Prog Britannia Twelve: A-Z Album Links

Guitar legend Allan Holdsworth (1946-2017) has played with some of the biggest names in Jazz Rock/Fusion, most notably Soft Machine, Pierre Moerlen's Gong, short-lived supergroup U.K. & last but least 'Igginbottom (Who?). Allan Holdsworth has his own distinctive and instantly recognisable guitar style, which includes a vast array of complex chord progressions, such as diminished, augmented, chromatic and altered scales - and if that makes any sense at all to you, then you know far more about music theory than I do. As you can probably gather from my low ratings, the appeal of Jazz Fusion to me is diminished, just like some of Allan Holdsworth's chord progressions. Tongue

Sounds like you're copying text from a Wikipedia text about Allan. LOL

You forgot to mention several other superb bands Allan played with... Bruford, Jean-Luc Ponty, K2, Tony Williams Lifetime, Chad Wackerman, Truth in Shredding (not a band, but killer album), and Planet X.

We all can't appreciate or like the same music, but I heartily disagree with your ratings of Allan's solo material. Saw him live three times in the 80's playing his music, and he was breathtaking! Some of my favorite concerts ever. Wink

Welcome to the wonderful world of ProgArchives, where there's something here to suit everyone's tastes. Symphonic Neo Prog band The Inner Road are coming up here next and their music is right up my street. Thumbs Up

I've travelled a long way 'round the outer ring road to reach The Inner Road, but it was worth it. They're a  modern  Symphonic Prog (or Neo Prog) band that's slightly off the beaten track, so no surprise if you've never heard of them.  All they need now is a singer - preferably female - for that little bit of extra mileage. Smile
