Hitchhikers is the greatest thing ever.  The first book is the one that's been overquoted by everyone anyway.  Skim through that one to get the characters familiarized, then move on to the other 4 books.  They can be pretty deep, and the last one (Mostly Harmless) is really dark.

I've heard the quality of the books drops off greatly after the first 2 (or 3 depending on who you ask). Lizzy tried reading the series but lost interest halfway through the second.

I think I got some weird looks listening to Deloused on the bus today. I'm pretty sure I heard two 'different' songs that used the exact same beat coming from different sides of the bus so whutever. Was only on for five stops anyway.
