I'll have a separate poll for solo prog artists coming up soon. Smile
Sorry for the delayed reply, I'll substitute him for ELP.

Yes, it's funny to look back and see that after thirteen rounds of voting, Henry Cow were in 9th place with 46 points, and they're STILL on 46 points, only now they're in 20th place. Smile

The only disappointment for me is that Camel and Renaissance didn't quite make it into the final Top 10. Confused

Okay, I've just added a couple of points onto the total for ELP. Smile

Surprised (but pleased!) ELP have done well in this poll and also that there's not much love for Focus who didn't even make the Top 20.

Van der Graaf Generator made an amazing comeback at the end, but I always knew they had that extra spark in them. Smile

At least Focus won my Dutch Prog poll. Smile

^Henry Cow fans must get up early (probably to fight the socialist revolution Wink) while VDGG fans obviously prefer a lie-in.

That's one way of looking at it, although I would have expected VDGG fans to have that extra spark of energy to rise early in the morning. Smile

I'm surprised Camel and Renaissance aren't higher up. I would have put a few quid on Camel making the top 10.

I would have staked £10 on Camel and Renaissance making it into the final Top 10 too, in which case we'd both be £10 poorer. Smile

Camel yes, Renaissance no. You just got to look at the Top 10 after Soft Machine gets pushed out by Camel to see that there's no way Renaissance was going to make it into the Top 10. Renaissance's first entry into the PA Top 100 is at 33.

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

To me the top 9 are pretty much a lock, those are all the bands we typically argue whenever Big 5/6/7 discussions come up so this poll reinforces that.

You then get the 10th spot with Soft Machine where from my perspective you could pick one from SM, PT, Camel, Renaissance, & Marillion. I like that Can are in there but they're typically a little too non-mainstream similar to Cardiacs, & Magma.

^^ Renaissance managed to remain in the Top 10 for about the first couple of hours after posting this poll, but then it was a slow slide down the slippery slope of the Top 20 after that. Smile
