Au Contraire! It's not a big middle finger to Progressive Metal - it's a big thumbs up to Symphonic Metal, so don't knock the bands untii you've tried them. The only band I haven't heard on the list above is Haken. Smile

You are compiling from dubious sources bands from several subgenres.

The fact that you ignore all users that disagree with you in these two threads alone says a lot.

Thanks Jared. At least I've pleased someone today with my Heavenly Symphonic Metal selections, even if I can't hope to please everyone. Wink

It's also rather ridiculous because Heavenly are not a symphonic metal band. 🤦‍♂️

^ that's European power metal.
It's weird how you argue endlessly here when you don't know the difference between subgenres.

I don't know what dubious sources you're using, but I'm using my own ears, and what better example of Symphonic Metal Heaven can there be than a band called Heavenly!? Big smile

HolyHell. You'll  be telling me next that HolyHell don't belong here either. LOL

Considering you're putting together bands from several metal subgenres and call it all symphonic metal is ridiculous.

Heavenly are classified as power metal, melodic metal.
You were given links to the best metal sources, but you chose to ignore all that.

Are you sure it was your ears you were using there, Paul?

I don't pretend to be an expert on Metal - far from it - but I know Symphonic Metal when I hear it. Anyway, my list includes Progressive Metal bands too, so I have both bases covered.  Smile
