And then this for SNES:

my favorite in the trilogy

PS: this pic rocks

makes me want to play Zelda Tongue

Those games are awesome. DKC2 is my favorite DKC too.

Zelda : a Link to the Past pwns though.

My personal favorites on SNES are Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 6. Oh and Secret of Mana.

Wow, I forgot all about that photo! LOL

Chrono Trigger is great, but I've always had a soft spot for the two Lufia games, as well as FFVI, of course.  Secret of Mana 2 is also excellent and really pushed the SNES, back in the day.

I'm currently waiting anxiously for Bioshock to arrive, I'm getting a tad impatient as this is the first game I've ever been really excited about, I looked forward to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Supreme Commander but I was never impatiently staring at my order status on the website I ordered them from. LOL

I've also found a wonderful little collection of retro games for the PSP from EA. It contains the following games:

  • B.O.B.
  • Budokan
  • Desert Strike
  • Jungle Strike
  • Haunting Starring Polterguy
  • Mutant League Football
  • Road Rash
  • Road Rash II
  • Road Rash III
  • Syndicate
  • Ultima: The Black Gate
  • Virtual Pinball
  • Wing Commander
  • Wing Commander: Secret Missions
To be honest I just bought it for Desert Strike, Jungle Strike, Sydicate and Wing Commander but all the other games are going to be entertaining too. Big%20smile

Lately I've been playing Fire Emblem 6, 7, and 8, but mostly just the latter two.

I was able to beat that game pretty easily when I was 10 or 11.... Tongue

Didn't care for Final Fantasy XII.  The story wasn't very interesting and the characters had no personality or development whatsoever.  The world was cool, I even liked the battle system, shame the story/characters were mediocre, which is the essence of a good RPG.

X was great, however, despite what many others might think.  VI and VII are still my favorites, and I'll be buying IV soon (never even played that one).

I'll continue being the stalwart for niche Nintendo DS titles:  I just picked up Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon on release date, and I can't get enough of it.  I never dug Harvest Moon before, but it takes that, beefs up the engine, triples the depth, adds the most gorgeous, organic graphics I've seen in the series, adds an entire action/RPG aspect to the game, and takes away the previous limitations.  It's probably my current favorite, and I haven't touched another game since I started this one

Me and my wife are huge Harvest Moon fans, and were very disappointed with Harvest Moon DS.I have heard nothing but great things about Rune Factory and am definitely going to pick up a copy tomorrow.

You will not be disappointed in the least.

A little birdie delivered something special to my mailbox this morning...  Gyakuten Saiban 3: BEST PRICE!  It's Phoenix Wright 3 for the DS, the Japanese release, and it happens to have an English option that pretty much contains the English release of the game, complete with English graphics and speech.  Shame that the US release isn't until the end of October, and I'll be long done with it before then...  Embarrassed

I agree with everything you said. The only thing that I've never forgiven myself for is never playing early FF games....I bought VII a while ago, cause I heard it was the best FF, but I was so young then and had no patience, and sold it just because the stupid graphics and all the reading and wacky controls...if only I was as wise then...

But I heard that there will be a VII remake for PS3. I think it will be exactly the same, just crazy graphics, new controls, and speech. (that may not be true, though). If that is the case, then I'm definitely going to save up for 2 years and buy a Ps3.

EDIT: And by the way, I'm looking for a new RPG to play for the last few weeks of summer. I want one with a really really interesting and layered plot and good characters. Any suggestions? I don't care about controls, graphics, or how long it is, I just want a good story.

Any particular system?

If it's for the PS2 and you haven't already played it I would recommend Dragonquest VIII.

Super Mario 3 is without a doubt the greatest platforming game ever.  I can't get enough of that game!

Yeah, there's definitely some great stuff in it. I think that the Water Temple theme sounds vaguely Avant. Wink
