I should listen to Larks Tongues in Aspic a lot more often. Like every day.

It looks like we had quite the quiet day in the Shred Room today.

Please wait for the beautiful symphonic prog music of Simon Says to end before messing with the anti-death metal device on the stereo. I really do not want to have such a beautiful listening experience ruined by you screaming in absolute agony as all those volts of electricity pulse throughout your body.

You could always put Damnation in. I'm cool with that one. And that wouldn't even trigger the anti-death metal device.
And I'm not mean. I'd be sure to turn off the device before it did too much permanent damage. At worse, you'd probably have to live with a Dee Snider type hair style for a couple of weeks.

I've said this numerous times within the forums. I think that Opeth are spectacular musically. I just don't get the point of the death metal vocals. I never have, and I suspect that I never will. They make me cringe and I don't like to cringe when listening to music. Different strokes for different folks and all that stuff.

They're definitely not for everyone, but I felt the same way for months. (Just ask David) Maybe someday it'll click, maybe it won't. Doesn't matter, there are much more important things to worry about. You have pretty good taste already anyway. I've grown to really like the vocals now, but I still prefer the parts when he sings in his clean voice.

It was teal, but that works. Well... my band's album should be out soon (just waiting on someone to send me that last bit and then we're ready) so I won't even be keeping a progfreak signature for long. And I missed my old one. But... as of this post the red isn't the right shade. I updated it on progfreak but it hasn't carried over yet.

Good morning Pat. I imagine that your Phillies winning last night has put you in a pretty good mood today.

Baseball? I never pay attention to any sports except tennis.

Yes, baseball. The Philadelphia Phillies are playing the Tampa Bay Rays in the World Series. I'm pretty much a sports junkie myself.

Oh, okay. I grew up around sports never being on in the house, and I'm not an athletic type anyway. I do love tennis though.

My "playing days" have long past me by. I am just an armchair athlete these days, but growing up I'd generally be playing baseball, football, basketball, or street hockey during most non-school hours. Not that I was ever very good at any of them, but I'd play with friends who were of the same quality so we'd be competitive and I was pretty good amongst that competition.
