Another really awesome-sounding album/band I need to hear. Tongue

If I had a dollar for every time I heard an obscure but awesome-sounding band in this thread that I haven't heard yet... I'd be able to buy all the albums and listen to them. LOL

LOLLOLLOL You're so right!

Thought out the perfect emo suicide:

Step 1: Let him/her smoke a joint (a strong one, of course)
Step 2: play Heresie

Done! LOL

That is absolutely perfect. Effective population control! LOL

I bet Univers Zero would happy as well. Tongue

I've seen AMMMusic 66 mentioned like twice lately, but I don't know anything about it. Who are the musicians behind it?

It's not depressing, it's just random and minimalist and will drive most people bonkers. LOL

Yeah, I thought Interview might be second most RIO or tied; it could go either way.

Interview is actually my favorite Gentle Giant album and one of my top 10/15 albums of all time. Big%20smile

(As demonstrated by my last.fm top artist chart thing) Gentle Giant are definitely one of my favorites too. I even quite like The Missing Piece. Embarrassed

Interview is so underrated. I prefer it over Free Hand, although all of their albums from Octopus up to Interview are beyond amazing.

And Missing Piece is a very good album. Civillian is not bad either. Giant for a Day is so-so though.. LOL

I agree entirely with both segments of your post there. The debut is my least favorite (from debut to Missing Piece), but I still like it quite a bit. The only really good one (by Gentle Giant standards) in the first 3 is Acquiring the Taste, but I'd agree with you that their absolute golden streak was Octopus to Interview.

I freaking love all the tracks on Interview so much... it's just the perfect GG album for me. "TIMING!!!" LOL

Not heard that yet... or wait, I may have... I think I did play some Merzbow. LOL

Oh wait, Iancu Dumistrescu's Pierres Sacrées - Harryphonies - Grand Ourse will have a similar affect. Big%20smile

I'm not sure if even I like Iancu Dumitrescu or Merzbow yet. LOL

But I must find some Cornelius Cardew and Scratch Orchestra recordings.

He's not prog... I basically want to delve into the British avant-garde scene of the 1960s.  Although Cardew did perform with AMM for a time.

Those who know Sonic Youth, may know the Cardew piece Treatise.
