We've all at some point misinterpreted what a vocalist is singing. Especially in prog this is an easy thing to do, so what are some of your worst misheard lyrics?

English is my third language ... you don't want to know mine ... and it was double hard when people made fun of you ... how you gonna learn a language and communicate when people are not being helpful? .... yeah ... good old high school ...

Not prog, but "Spoke to Joyce" has to be mentioned here. I spoke to joyce in the morning, I spoke to joyce at night. Of course he is saying, smoke two joints.

I believe everyone is familiar with this one:
Manfred Mann's Earth Band - Blinded by the Light
Actual: Revved up like a deuce
Heard: Wrapped up like a douche
Listening to the song, I still don't think there is any way he isn't singing "douche"
I'm going to guess that 99% of everyone who has or ever will hear that song thinks thats what he is saying.
The one that sticks out to me is Genesis "Abacab", which I didn't know was the name of the song. I heard it in junior high and thought the chorus was, "I'm a cun*", which I could not believe they were getting away with.

The song "down on the farm" by Camel. For the longest time I thought the lyrics were "behind the woodshed the plowman is taking a pee." The real lyrics are "behind the woodshed the plowman is taking a peek at the farmer's daughter...."

For the longest time, before i knew the song title, i thought when Peter Gabriel sang the title of his song "Sledgehammer", he was actually saying "Snake Charmer"

Please excuse this incoming burst of raunch, people. It took three entire listens to "Kid A" before I knew the correct lyrics to a single verse, believe it or not.
"Everything In It's Right Place"
"Yesterday, I woke up sucking on my mom"
"Yesterday, I woke up sucking a lemon"
And I always thought Games Without Frontiers was "She's so funky, yeah". I assume Ms. Bush never took a remedial French class.
That Gabriel thing here readily comes to mind for me, also. Quite frankly, I hate it, whatever it means in French. An artist spewing French didn't work for me either at the end of that Let It Be song sung by Lennon ("Across the Universe"?). It detracts from his legend quite honestly. Enjoyed the French by his bandmate in "Michelle" though.

That is NOT French at the end of "Across the Universe".

Initially I heard the verse of Rush's 2112 as "We are the priests of the temple of syringe" instead of "Syrinx" so I thought the song must've been about drugs.

That brings back some memories! So did my Mum, who tried to bar me from listening on the grounds I might be turning into a drug crazed looney. I spent a fair amount of time as a stroppy teenager trying to persuade her that I was a booze crazed looney and it was Syrinx.
