I've had people tell me that a 7 minute song is too long.
|
I just have to laugh when companies like apple estimate the number of songs you can hold on their device based on 2.5 minute songs. C'mon, Steve!

Do you really love the internet, or are you just saying that because you saw it?

I was listening to The least... in the car and it was not on especially loud, so the vocals weren't as clear, so it probably sounded more like Bowie to an unfamiliar ear. I did say though that Bowie was in the studio nextdoor during a VdGG recording session though (I think that's correct) and thus was very much influenced by Hammill.

Also you think he plays flute in Jethro Tull
When everytime you listen to a flute you think it's Jethro Tull.

I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

when you refer to genesis as "that band who sang i can't dance" or recoil in horror when someone suggests phil collins is a talented drummer "who is brand x? all that guy can do is hit all of his tom drums"

You claim anything Genesis made in the 80's is prog.

You discover after years of listening to Genesis that the dude who sang "Sledgehammer" was once the frontman of the same band.
(True story: When I was a Genesis fan in my early teens, I didn't find this out until Casey Kasem revealed this trivia on American Top 40 radio show. Back when Peter's song and "Invisible Touch" were fighting for the top spot on the charts. I grew up on Abacab onwards!)

You know you're a ProgArchives newbie when you think everyone likes Dream Theater.

Actually - despite having heard the song over 70 times - this would make me a prog newby. XD

I can understand how they co-exist. I don't mind AC/DC particularly either.
It's just the connection between the two bands that pisses me off.
Also jumping on the "prog noobs listen to Another Brick In The Wall pt 2 and Comfortably Numb" bandwagon.
