Meanwhile... ¿have you ever heard of cats attacking people just because, cats chaising bycicles or hurting children badly?. As far as I know, there isn't a single country with laws about having cats. Nicest creatures around. |
Unless you're a bird, or a bag of garbage on my back deck.
Okay, kittens are admittedly cute critters, and domestic cats are generally harmless (to people), but they are predators, and people letting them roam freely outside is a problem. They kill native bird, lizard and assorted small animal species, and many of us are allergic to them (and will therefore have to avoid your houses).
On another note, did you folks know that in much of Canada and the USA, a large (15 pound) weasel called the FISHER kills many people's pet cats, (when the cat is let outside)? These very tough, very capable predators also target chickens and porcupines -- obviously if they can kill porcupines, a cat is comparatively easy prey. Apparently, they often come down head first out of a tree, right onto the unsuspecting cat. If you live in a rural/wooded area, take care, and keep kitty indoors, where she belongs.
As with any pet, cat owners need to be responsible. Kitty may be cute, but so is a wild songbird -- and I don't like to find your cat's crap in my flower bed!
Again though, here is my favourite cat (possibly my favourite animal):
Very beautiful, and earth's top (land) predator. I recently had a nightmare in which I was being stalked, then chased by one (I woke up in a sweat at that point). Now THAT was SCARY!
