^ Don't get me wrong, I think the first two are quite good. I just don't find any excitement or emotion on this album. It left me cold... and bored

^How do you feel about the new Underworld album?
I've only spun it a few times, and maybe I've completely gone fishing, but is it just me of isn't there a touch of post punk to the precedings? I am not complaining btw - I was merely surprised to hear something like that on an Underworld release.

I like it a lot. I had to listen to it a few times before it 'clicked' though. But most Underworld albums are like that, they take some time and repeated listening to appreciate.
Their music has always had occasional post punk touches, they are part of that generation. They have never been a pure dance band, they like to combine dance with other genres of music. They were originally in a new wave band called The Screen Gemz in 1980. Underworld's singer used to hang out with Blondie, he was the guitarist on some of Debbie Harry's solo tours. Then in the early nineties they discovered techno and became the Underworld that everyone knows now.

Skimmed back a few pages. Loved the Sabbath banter, boys! Have to agree on all accounts for what was said, so I can offer no opinion at all. Sabbath are absolute warlords of the metal world. It would be stupid for anyone to try and compete or f**k with them.  Today and yesterdays joy. Various Artists-- Gothic Rock vol. 1 Airbag-- all rights removed ( got the latest ordered. Should arrive next week. Sam. Saw your comments. I'm up for another one of their laid back experiments. ;) Dream theater-- live a Luna park APP-- The Alan Parsons project that never was. ( E.W's experiments. What a musical god. ) Headspace [ ]-- all that you fear is gone. ( this album is lights out. What progressive might. This is how heavy Prog should sound. ) Fields of the Nephilim-- earth Inferno The mission-- carved in sand: live at Shepherds Busch empire 2008) - this album is god to me. Klaus Schulze-- X ( been a while since I Revisited this one probably because it's really freaking long! Worth it though. Redemption-- This Mortal coil ( an album that has grown on me tons over the last few years. )

The whole 1970 thing is a coincidence. Egg's debut is so incredible, love it. I also rediscovered Wishbone Ash and once again felt the magic that surrounded my discovery of the band. It was quite a revolution when I left my comfort zone of dry blues rock and moved onto something that on one hand built on those ingredients, but added somewhat of a proggy flavor to it.

Yeah it's quite close to their debut. I think Give Me Back My Man and Private Idaho are two of their best tracks! Quiche Lorraine is actually my least favorite on it lol. But to each their own
