How is Iconoclast? Paradise Lost was their first album that I didn't like. (I will have to re-listen to it), and it made me leery about buying Iconoclast.

Yes Scott, I love Iconoclast but if you didn't enjoy Paradise Lost I would probably stay clear of it. It's a continuation from there. Less outright progressive, symphonic and more metal.

There are other albums that I like better than anything Opeth did (like Om or Marrow Of The Spirit), but overall yeah Opeth pretty much own everyone in progressive metal.

Alright guys. Have a good weekend! I don't expect to be around too much the next few days. Hopefully, we get the Tigers - Diamondbacks game in tonight. It is looking like it might be another wet one.

For my purposes Negura Bunget and Agalloch aren't considered "mainstream" prog metal.

That is what I am afraid of. I'll give it another listen this weekend and see if my opinion has changed at all. This being said, I did really enjoy The Showdown from Allen and Lande. That was a pretty good power metal album.

Doesn't sound like something that would interest me, sorry. And I hope to be sleeping in 20 minutes (wish me luck).
