Also, this album is going to be getting the five star treatment from me soon (even though I didn't like it on first hearing):

Ritual The Hemulic Voluntary Band album cover

I've seen you mention that before but I don't know a thing about it.

It's more or less based on this.

Musically brilliant.  I am sucked in every time.

Looking at the album page on PA makes me think I should hear this.

I only have Mei Embarrassed

No shame sir.

After Mei (my favorite Echolyn), get Cowboy Poems Free.  Musically, it's the opposite- several "pop" songs, as it were.  That is to say, no epic, so perhaps a challenge for you- but wow...this is the band's viewing of American history and nostalgia.  Five stars.

Next for me is The End is Beautiful, one I gave five stars to and still have not digested fully.  It is a very depressing album, and yet, the music is upbeat and happy.  Try a song about suicide in a peppy major key.

After that, either As the World or Suffocating the Bloom.  I'm partial to the latter, but the former ends with one of their greatest numbers: "Never the Same."  Please play this at my funeral.  Amazing.

My third favorite band.  Did you know I interviewed Brett Kull for Prog Archives last year?  I can fetch the link if you've not seen it.

I can't get enough of it- I should be working right now, but since I'm listening to it, I can't.  It's one of those amazing things that demands full attention (and occasional air guitar or keyboards).

Ah well.

I'm off to listen to A Grounding in Numbers again.
