I give your review of his review of his reviews a tawdry **/***** - you weren't descriptive in the slightest and your flow lacked a certain viscous element.
I award my review of your review of his review of his reviews an edifying ****/***** for clarity, deftness and sheer unmitigated zeal.

Thanks man, means a lot. I've been disappointed with my reviews though recently so i took a break and sadly haven't gotten the motivation to do it again.
And i honestly liked your Epignosis review. Great phrasing and pacing throughout the review. |
Thanks, I hope to write more reviews soon but I'm a little pressed for time now. Maybe I will review an Aube album (unfortunately, I would have to listen to the album a few times first ![LOL LOL](smileys/smiley36.gif) ). Don't get discouraged with your reviews, I just read your most recent one (the Perhaps review) and it was excellent. I would be interested to see what you have to say about a Rush album.

How can I not like a review with this line? "Tasteful bass licks are the sprinkles on top."

Thanks David! I appreciate the notice.
And I should mention that reading your reviews is akin to catching a good buzz. Something I've kind of missed in recent years. ![Thumbs Up Thumbs Up](smileys/smiley20.gif) Your delirious enthusiasm is contagious.

Maybe it's because of all the shoulder padding in here, but I keep hearing that unique Homer song 'I'm shaving my shoulders!!!' Hahah...
Ahh well, it sure beats out the omnipresent What is prog- and why do I feel so clever when I listen to it? thread.
Oh and thanks for the notion Steve. That is the sweetest thing anyone has ever equated me with. A buzz. Buuujah!

^ Hey David, it's really penlightening to have a kind and intelligent fellow like you foruming here, and doing personal and thoughtful reviews - much more respetable effor than spamming memes to the usual digital playgrounds. Also enjoyed the lines like "the good old metal guitar solo taken directly out of
Iron Maiden's most psychedelic moments, if there ever was such a thing" on the essay about Finnish psychadelic stoner dîsk

I think your reviews are excellent, Austin. Very descriptive and eloquent while also being concise.
Been meaning to pop in here to highlight some reviewers for a while... I have to say that Rob (Epignosis) is one of my favorite reviewers; his reviews are easy to read and very descriptive of the sound of the album, so much so that I can read one of his negative reviews and decide from my reading that I think I would like the album!
Scott's (ACR'S) reviews are excellent as well, they are very well-written and insightful and appeal to my love of many words.
|
Ah thank you kindly. I am approaching review number 1000 and I am still wondering which album I should review to celebrate the 1000 mark.... suggestions?

For 1000. Marillion's "Man of A Thousand Faces" and then It's A Beautiful Day's "A Thousand and One Nights"

How about... Frosty vs. Rudolph by Theocracy, The Problem of Pain, Part 1 by Torman Maxt, or A Very Proggy Christmas by Neal Morse?
