i saw Rush during their A Farewell To Kings tour in 1977-quite something!

Sorry, I had to be the only vote for ATTW3. In all honesty I love the album. Down & Out, The Lady Lies, Follow You Follow Me, Many Too Many....some of the best PC era tunes.

Dixie Dregs' What If.  Intense instrumental.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

There is some serious omissions to your list:
Genesis - A Trick Of The Tail (released February 1976) - Their best album(?), at least in this period!
Yes - Yesshows (1980) - much better than their late 70's albums
Magma - Udu Wudu (1976)
Magma - Attakh (1978)
Univers Zero - Univers Zero (1977)
Univers Zero - Heresie (1979)

I'm sure this is why so many choose "other album"

Trick of the Tail was recorded in 1975 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I'm already tired of writing that. Yessshows isn't an album.

As for the rest - I agree but I've included only the albums that I know .
Would you catch the final words of mine?

none of the above. for me it is a tough choice between these too very little known albums which DEFINITELY deserve a lot more attention; both can be listened to on YouTube in completenes

Mother Gong - Fairy Tales

Nik Turner - Xitintoday

both albums are definitely in my top ten prog albums of ALL TIMES, so do yourself a favor and listen to them. if you want the links I can provide them; especially Xitintoday is a bit hard to find if you don't know what you are looking for.
both albums were not available on CD for a long time so it is not a surprise they are so little known. but they are real gems

My vote, therefore, is "Other: one of that bunch".

I'd choose Magma's Attahk!  Pink Floyd winning yaaaaawn!Sleepy

I have decided to post the links anyway. here Nik Turner's Xitintoday:

and here Mother Gong's "Fairy Tales": the tracks had to be split up, but there is an automatic continuation, so just continue listening. it is a playlist for the complete album

once again: do yourself the favor and listen to these albums. they are both outstanding gems, and you will love them. give both albums several hearings if they don't sink in the first time.

both albums have been rated 10 times so far. "Xitintoday" has an average rating of 4.52 and "Fairy Tales" of 3.94

Could have sworn I voted in this poll but I guess not. Anyway I narrowed it down to Animals, Going for the One, Tormato, and UK. Using my tried and true method of the one I listen to the most it's UK.

Also, thanks BaldJean for the recommendations. Nice stuff.
